Bobbie!

We were so lucky to have Ami who does pit bull rescue bring Bobbie to visit us! Ami was able to show us a video about the problems with breed specific legislation as well as explain to us why pit bulls get a bad rep---and why it doesn't fit them!

Bobbie was so amazing. It's so hard and sad to think that he spent his first few years at life tied to a stake. Bobbie came from the Missouri 500 which was the largest dog fight ring bust in history! see more here: bhmsr.com/?page_id=55

SUCCESS!

Cats and Cocoa/Dogs and Desserts was a HUGE success! We raised about $200.00, educated many students, promoted animal welfare, and just raised awareness about the overpopulation problem in Georgia, the South, and across the country!

Here are some pictures of our booth and of our furry friends! Thanks so much to Georgia Humane Society for letting us take out Sunny, Sheila, and Jasper for the day!

Feral Kittens Saved!

GT AWA has helped save three kittens on campus that were born to a feral mother. At 4 months old they were kicked out of their mothers terrirtory and in bad shape. After 3 months of socialization and domestication they were taken to the Georgia Humane Society where they were spayed and received all vaccinations. Two of the three have been adopted and they are all gorgeous girls. We are happy they are going to have safe, happy, and forever homes.
